The city of love, the canals, the gondolas… Since always, one of the main tourist destinations in the world. For many, a too classic place, but certainly one of the most special destinations. Today at Ice Tech: Venice. You’re going to love it!
Venice is par excellence known as the city of love, one of the cities full of magic and seduction. From the famous canals, the bridges, or the gondola rides, to history and art, leave an incalculable cultural legacy.
The Piazza di San Marco is the heart of Venice. Hundreds of tourists and photographers are crowded every day in it in order not to miss any details of this wonderful architectural work. In this space, we can also see the Basilica di San Marco and the Campanille, great symbols of the city. In the same square, there is the Palazzio Ducale, distinctive of the glory and power that the city had in the past.
The Ponte dei Sospiri, unites the Palazzio Ducale with the former prison of the Inquisition. It was the sighs (sospiri) of those who were condemned before being executed who gave the name to the bridge, and not the sighs of lovers, as many believe.
However, the most touristic bridge in Venice is the Ponte di Rialto, the oldest bridge that crosses the Grand Canal. Crossing in gondola or in vaporetto under the bridge is another thing that you can not miss if you travel here.
Il Gran Canale, as its name implies, is the largest canal that crosses the city. Its almost 4 metres length and divides the city of Venice in half.
Much is said about gondola or vaporetto rides, but Venice is one of the most beautiful cities to visit giving a walk and getting lost in its incredible alleys.
The Academy Gallery is the main symbol of the artistic and cultural character of Venice, housing the best collections of Italian art. It hosts works by Tintoretto, Titian or Da Vinci. Art lovers can’t miss it!
In Venice one of the most famous carnivals on Earth is celebrated. During the first two weeks of February, thousands of tourists flock to the city with masks in order to celebrate it. A cold season, but with an atmosphere warmed by magic and fun.
If you have not visited it yet, you certainly can not make excuses for not traveling to Venice. Your honeymoon, a romantic getaway or just a weekend stroll through its streets. Remember, who travels to Venice… Always comes back! 🙂
