The Piazza di San Marco is the heart of Venice. Hundreds of tourists and photographers are crowded every day in it in order not to miss any details of this wonderful architectural work. In this space, we can also see the Basilica di San Marco and the Campanille, great symbols of the city. In the same square, there is the Palazzio Ducale, distinctive of the glory and power that the city had in the past.

The Ponte dei Sospiri, unites the Palazzio Ducale with the former prison of the Inquisition. It was the sighs (sospiri) of those who were condemned before being executed who gave the name to the bridge, and not the sighs of lovers, as many believe.

However, the most touristic bridge in Venice is the Ponte di Rialto, the oldest bridge that crosses the Grand Canal. Crossing in gondola or in vaporetto under the bridge is another thing that you can not miss if you travel here.
