Grappa, the world's most valuable liquor

Grappa, the world's most valuable liquor

Italy and wine are good friends, but there is not a richer and a more typical liquor in the Italian tables as Grappa, a liquor made from distilled remains of squeezed grapes (vinacce). It is considered to be a high quality sophisticated product; Grappa is essential in the Italian table talk.

Of Italian origin, specifically from Bassano del Grappa, this liquor has over 400 years, and it is since then an indissoluble part of the gastronomic heritage of Italy.

Despite the number of variants, aromas and flavours you can find, Grappa is usually presented in a clear, crystalline colour. It has a fruity flavour and a high alcohol content. Ice Tech always recommends to drink moderately.

Grappa in Italy

It is usually taken in shot glasses with coffee or accompanying the dessert, it can be added in a cup of coffee, forming a café corretto.

Traditionally, it is always drank after a heavy meal, since it is said to help in digestion. In addition, it is typical to add it to dishes which can be both sweet and savoury 😉
