The exciting history of Italian coffee
Coffee is one of those drinks that, no matter where you come from, you have probably tried at least once in your life. Its smell, its aroma and its flavour, make this drink become the favourite one for our daily life. At Ice Tech, we are both coffee and Italy lovers, so we are passionate about its history. Here you can read it.
Coffee in Italy.
Despite being a plant that grows in an equatorial climate, coffee is a delight valued by the Italians. It all started in 1570 when Venice began to market this product, being in 1630 the opening of the first store of this product.
Such was the success of the store, that it expanded to more elegant shops, such as the rustic and the popular ones. From there, it became a rite around which artists, politicians and literary critics and readers met.
It was too exquisite to be taken in bars. That is why espresso machines, first introduced in France, were created in 1901 by Milanese Luigi Bezzera. It was a steam espresso machine, the first one of the espresso machines. Years later, Achille Gaggia introduced the extraction under pressure machine, allowing to obtain a concentrated and aromatic drink, with dense and compact cream. What we know today as a proper espresso.
Another characteristic coffee of Italy is the delicious Moka, whose machines have not evolved excessively over time.
Nowadays, it is unthinkable to travel to Italy and not to drink about drinking a good coffee with milk, with Ice Tech ice, a cappuccino or an espresso, accompanied by a delicious croissant. 😉
