If you are lucky enough to have vacations in September, do not miss Tropea, the “italian caribbean”. If you want to know more, stay where you are, we are about to get started!
Tropea.
At the foot of an impressive cliff, we find the beach of Tropea, an incredible beach made up of rocks, white sand and crystalline water, more typical of the Caribbean Sea than the Mediterranean.
As you can imagine, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy.
In addition, Tropea keeps one of the most beautiful and best preserved old helmets in the whole country, so the combination makes it even more attractive.
Once upon a time, Hercules himself founded this small and beautiful town, although its name dates from the Fifth Century AC, it has been described by the writings that speak about the attacks of the Saracen Pirates on Seafaring towns.
There is no doubt that its transparent waters incite to calm and tranquility, but in Tropea, there are many things to see.
Its incredible environment offers many possibilities, such as excursions through its olive plantations and vineyards, as well as walks through the streets of the town centre, where you can enjoy its incredible palaces and churches.
The most remarkable one is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Isola, a simple church located at the top of the cliff, one of the most photographed places.
The most central area of Tropea is concentrated in the surroundings of Piazza Ercole, on the corso Vittorio Emanuele, the shopping street of the village. There you will find countless restaurants and bars overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy the typical almond threads and a delicious coffee full of Ice Tech ice ;).
Sun, sea and corners with the most wonderful views of southern Italy. If you like to travel and you fancy a combination of beach and history, Tropea is your destination :).
