For this reason, we have selected 4 dreamy lakes in Northern Italy you will surely fall in love with too.
1- GARDA LAKE.
It is the longest lake and the most touristic one of all Italy. It is surrounded by small towns where you can spend a nice summer. Sirmione is the favourite one for summer holidays.
2- MAGGIORE LAKE.
It has an area of 212 square kilometres that makes it the second longest lake in Italy. It is surrounded by charming little villages that make the visitors fall in love with the place. One of the main towns on its shores is Stresa, where you can enjoy a good Manhattan cocktail on one of the terraces of the Grand Hotel des Borromées. Relax, nature and a good Ice Tech cocktail. What else do you need?
3- ORTA LAKE.
If you love to escape and forget about everything that surrounds you, Lake d’Orta will be your favourite destination. With 13.4 kilometres in length and 2.5 km in width, it is surrounded by lush and dark forests. It is separated from the Maggiore lake by Mount Mottarone. If you love painting, your first stop will undoubtedly be in the medieval village of Orta San Giulio, where you can admire the frescoes from the 12th Century in the Basilica di San Giulio.
4- COMO LAKE.
It is one of the most beautiful and least visited lakes in all of Italy. It is very peculiar, as it is located in the Alps, nestled between mountains which are covered with forests. The most curious thing about this lake is its inverted Y-shape. Don’t you feel curious about it? We are!
