Winter cocktails: the best way to fight the cold

Who said that cocktails can only be taken in summer?

The cocktails are usually typical of the summer season, although due to the large consumption of these, more and more professionals devise new ones to serve them also in winter. There are machines that generate specialized ice for these cocktails, which facilitates the task of creating these.

Below, we show you a list of winter cocktails ideal to be prepared this Christmas and to leave all your friends impressed. If you want to learn how to do them, read on and take note:

Winter Cocktails

Tom Collins

In the 19th century, the bartender John Collins put together a cocktail of gin, lemon juice, sugar, soda and a few slices of lemon to accompany.

Mix the gin, lemon juice and a spoonful of sugar in the shaker. Then, ice is generated, with Ice Tech ice machines, and placed, if possible, in a tube glass, accompanied by several slices of lemon. Finally, mix the shaker in the glass with the ice and fill it with soda and with the appropriate decoration, usually mint leaves.

Negroni

This is one of the simplest winter cocktails to use, only with red vermouth, campari and gin. This is originally from Italy, more specifically from the region of Florence, created by Camillo Negroni.

One ounce of each drink is poured into a jar or in a jug: gin, red vermouth and campari to mix. Then, add it in a glass with ice decorated with a slice of orange or lemon. It is important in this case that the used ice is of quality, since, if the drink gets watered down, it will lose all the essence.

Irish Coffee

Irish coffee is one of the most popular in the menu of many bars. This was created to combat the cold of the prominent passengers of the United States, in the twentieth century, in Ireland.

Its preparation is done with two cups of coffee, a little whiskey, sugar, whipped cream or whipped cream, coffee beans to decorate the grounds and cinnamon powder.

The difference with the rest of the other winter cocktails is that the whole process of this is done in the glass where it will be served. Coffee and whiskey are poured into the hot glass, which makes it ideal to combat the cold.

Classic Eggnog or Egg Punch

This is one of the Christmas cocktails with excellence. It is probably one of the sweetest and most caloric drinks you’ll ever taste, with an egg base; even so, it continues to triumph year after year.

This is made with whole milk, vanilla, eggs, cream, bourbon, rum, nutmeg and cinnamon powder. This drink is advisable to let it rest for a while before serving it, since it helps to concentrate the flavors more.
