Ice Tech Cocktails: “Old Fashioned”, the cocktail that never goes out of style
Spring is here and our body knows it. After telling you the 4 most popular cocktails in Italy, we bring you this cocktail that, although it is “Old Fashioned”, awakens passionate debates on how to prepare it. From Ice Tech we’ll tell you everything you need to know about this “old” cocktail.
Old fashioned
According to the legend, this is a cocktail which was invented at the Pendennis Club, a meeting place in Kentucky. However, at the moment it is maintained that, at a certain moment, people began to ask for an “old styled” whiskey, so it maintained that name.
The drink’s ingredients also generate debate. Some argue that, in the beginning, the Old Fashioned was elaborated of cognac, the most demanded drink in the USA. Nonetheless, over the years and due to the famous plague of the Philoxera, it began to be served with whiskey.
The controversy is such, that you can distinguish two “makers” of the Old Fashioned: those who crush the fruit when doing it and those who don’t. They therefore mess with each other. From Ice Tech we don’t care about which of the “makers” you are, we just want you to enjoy this cocktail with lots of ice
